My Christian Children Fund Boy

I was raised in a Christian home by Christian parents. At one point in my life, I was no longer attending church on a regular basis and I got under conviction to pay a tithe of some sort.

One day, the Christian Children's Fund commercial came on the television and those big brown eyes on those little dirty faces got to the heart of the matter.  So I called the number, received a picture and information packet about this little boy who was 3 years old at the time - that was in 1991.

His name is Paulo Marcelo de Souza Silva, he has a younger sister named Marianna, his mother used to be a school teacher and his father, a fisherman.

In October of 2005, Paulo Marcelo turns 17 years old, and he has grown into a fine looking young man who writes me letters, sends pictures, drawings, etc. He tells me how much he loves and appreciates me, and how God is going to bless me and take care of me for being a good person ... this always makes my heart bleed!

One of my fondest wishes is to meet Paulo Marcelo face to face some day.  I don't know if that will ever happen, but in the mean time, there is a great deal of satisfaction knowing that there is a young man in Brazil who's been underprivileged his whole life, but credits me for making his life better.

As much as I'd like to take credit for that, the credit truly goes to the Christian Children's Fund.  So if you want to help a child and receive a blessing in return, just click on the link and you can get started.

Thank you, and God Bless,
Stephanie Jo
